Will Campbell is Altering NIL Trends With His Talent

Reading Time: 2 minutes

LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell is mainly known for his explosiveness, dominance, and overall power on the field. However, this Tigers’ blocker is displaying another impressive quality with his newest endeavor.

Campbell is showing off his selfless side with his newest Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal involving Bose

In the video posted by On3’s Pete Nakos, Campbell is seen giving away almost $10,000 worth of Bose headphones to his fellow offensive linemen, as well as LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis.

“Y’all know I love y’all and appreciate y’all,” he said in the video. “I was lucky enough to partner up with Bose and get everybody a pair of headphones.”

Death Valley Voice reminds fans that offensive linemen are often overshadowed by skill players like quarterbacks and wide receivers.

It’s refreshing to see players like Campbell get the attention they deserve. Plus, sharing the deal with others is always nice to see.

Past headphone deals

A perfect example of this lies with which players have received headphone deals in the past.

Former quarterbacks Sam Hartman (Notre Dame) and Jayden Daniels (LSU) partnered with Beats By Dre about a year ago. Both deals gained attention because the athletes were able to gift headphones to their entire teams.

Other athletes such as Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and former USC QB Caleb Williams teamed up with Beats By Dre to film commercials for the company. Both are seen playing football while listening to music using the brand’s headphones.

Penn State QB Drew Allar also inked a deal with Bose last year. Like Campbell, Allar was able to gift each of his offensive linemen their own pair of headphones.

As stated, it’s not usually the offensive tackles participating in the deals. Campbell’s talent should speak for itself based on this example.

How Campbell’s background helped him ink another unique deal

Campbell’s headphone deal isn’t his only NIL deal. He also partnered with Sunshine Quality Solutions, a John Deere equipment dealer in July 2023.

The tackle was specifically chosen to represent the brand based on how he grew up. Company representatives said they were looking for an athlete who was not only familiar with how a farm operates but also with the machinery he would be advertising, On3 reports.

“Campbell has an agricultural background and grew up on a farm in Louisiana,” Sunshine marketing manager Grace Vest said according to On3. “He understands the hard work it takes to be in a field all day, and that is something we want to showcase in Louisiana. Tying our John Deere equipment to players on one of Louisiana’s favorite fields, Tiger Stadium, is a unique way to connect our brand to football.”

Today, Campbell is being touted as one of the most impactful players this season. He recently received two All-American honors including a First-Team All-American selection and preseason Offensive Tackle of the Year. He is also the No.2 ranked player in EASports College Football 25 game.

With honors like these, Campbell is likely to receive even more NIL deals and honors throughout the 2024 season.
