TreVeyon Henderson Home Run Hitter

Ohio State running back (RB) TreVeyon Henderson is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball.
Run.
Pass.
It doesn’t matter.
All he needs is the ball in his hand, and Henderson takes off and runs to daylight.
VISION
ELECTRIC BURST AND ACCELERATION
He has what it takes to exploit openings, and he has the get-up-and-go.
What does Henderson have in common with Ashton Jeanty?
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is the No. 2 player on my 2025 NFL Draft board. He’s my RB1 in this class.
But what does that have to do with Henderson?
According to the 33rd Team, Jeanty averaged the most yards after contact last season (5.25).
Guess who was second?
Henderson (4.43).
Okay, that got my attention
What does that do for Henderson?
I’m sliding him up on my board to RB2 effective immediately.
Selfless
This is one of the most attractive traits a prospect can have: the ability to check oneself at the door and be part of a team. Football, after all, is a team sport.
Henderson’s demonstrated selflessness is another quality that drew me to him. He is a beacon of consistency who runs with the same intensity every time his number is called, no questions asked.
This past off-season, Ohio State went out and got my 2025 RB3 Quinshon Judkins out of the transfer portal. That meant splitting time.
Not one complaint from Henderson.
He embraced it ⎯with 144 carries, 1,016 yards (7.1 average), 10 touchdowns in 2024, and 27 receptions for 284 yards (10.5 average) and 1 touchdown through the air on the way to becoming part of the National Championship team.
Not too shabby in a “part-time” role.
Blitz pickup?
Blocking for teammates?
Didn’t matter.
Henderson attacked those tasks with the same fervor as when he ran the ball.
Biggest negative?
It’s when he tries to get too fancy after taking the handoff.
He tends to hit a brick wall when he gets too indecisive.
Hands
Per Fox Sports:
- 591 rushes during his career at Ohio State
- 0 fumbles lost
How good are his hands receiving out of the backfield?
Per Rotowire:
2021: 27 receptions on 29 targets (93% catch rate)
2022: 4 receptions on 5 targets (80% catch rate)
2023: 19 receptions on 27 targets (70.4% catch rate)
2024: 27 receptions on 34 targets (79% catch rate)
Any other concerns?
Per Sports Illustrated, “Henderson joined the Buckeyes in 2021 and was productive right out of the gate, rushing for 1,248 yards and scoring 19 total touchdowns. He was voted a Freshman All-American for his performance. Henderson missed a good portion of the following year with a broken foot, and injuries limited him to just 10 games in his junior year. In 2024, he played a full slate of games.”
I wasn’t crazy about the one unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when he struck a Texas player in the helmet facemask with his palm. It was a one-off and I’m looking for patterns and tendencies, but it was a big enough deal to me that I’m going to mention it.

2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Twitchy and endzone-minded slingshot runner. Smooth long strider. Soft shoes. Sudden. Explosive acceleration. Tends to run high. Below average rigid change of direction. Cut-back runner. Shifty. Tough. Physical. Delivers strong force and high energy at impact. Consistently overcame the first tackler. Determined to break through. Gets into the second level quickly if left unchecked.
