The Most Stylish Receiver is Emeka Egbuka

If there’s one thing that’s true about Ohio State this season, it’s that they have two of the best wide receivers in college football. Marvin Harrison Jr. has received a lot of attention, especially this year, regarding his athleticism, as well as the many Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals he has acquired. However, Emeka Egbuka is joining this world now, as well.

The wide receiver teamed up with Amazon’s new business line, Amazon Style. In May, the company launched its first-ever physical store for men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories in Los Angeles. Egbuka represented the brand’s opening of their second store in Columbus Ohio, this past August.

What is Amazon Style?

“Amazon Style uses innovative technology to help you find looks you’ll love at the same great prices as on Amazon.com,” their official website says.

The store allows individuals to select items they like and book a reservation to try them on in the store. Employees will also pick out additional articles of clothing to try on based on the selections of each individual.

Amazon has signed with other college athletes like Texas State QB T.J. Finley to sell customized apparel through Amazon Fashion and their regular online store. However, Egbuka appears to be the first college athlete to partner with the brand’s new line.

Perks of the deal

As part of the deal, Egbuka did some modeling for the brand and helped advertise on social media. He was also featured wearing Amazon Style on a billboard on top of the store.

My campaign is live! Go check out my billboard at Easton!,” Egbuka said in an Amazon Style Instagram story post from 11 weeks ago. He is referring to the Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio.

“Well done and well earned!,” one X user commented on a post from On3 with the same picture.

“Hell yeah, much deserved!” another wrote.

How Ohio State’s changes are benefitting athletes

Buckeyes Wire notes that Ohio State has gone through several changes regarding collectives and Name, Image, and Likeness restructuring. They say it is because of recent restructuring that players such as Egbuka are landing more deals. It is unclear if Ohio State’s current collective, The Foundation, is responsible for this particular partnership.

Amazon Style and The Foundation aren’t Egbuka’s only partnerships. The 21-year-old has additional NIL deals with IntuitTurboTax and Casey’s, a convenience store chain in the Midwest and Southeast.

It is no wonder the wide receiver is racking up deals. His performance on the field this season has been imposing. Egbuka has missed three games due to an ankle injury, but for the five games that he has played, his stats are still impressive.

Although Ohio State is working with a new quarterback this year (since their former quarterback C.J. Stroud was drafted), you wouldn’t be able to tell. The team is 9-0 and hopes to continue their streak.

As of August, Egbuka was ranked at No. 11 on ESPN’s mock draft. Many fans expect him to be taken within the first round, so keep your eye out for Egbuka for the rest of this season.
