Kadyn Proctor Earns First Round Grade

Is Alabama left tackle Kadyn Proctor perfect?
No.
But he’s close enough.
None of these prospects is “perfect.” In the words of Tony Razzano, the man who wrote the book that taught me how to scout back when I was 17, Secrets of an NFL Scout, “There are no 10s.”
That’s why there are seven rounds of the draft, and that’s why there are undrafted free agents. There are varying degrees of skillset.
I am a hard grader (maybe the hardest grader out there). I put a third-round grade on Proctor’s 2024 game film. He was going to have to sell me on moving him up my board.
And he did.
To be honest ⎯
I really didn’t even want to take the time to go back and watch another 15 games of Proctor after sitting through 11 games of his 2024 film.
But, I’m glad I did.
I even almost stopped after one game of his 2025 film.
Then I saw this rep below, and I said to myself, “Okay, Proctor, okay.”
The more I watched…
The more I liked him.
Proctor just looked different from what I remembered.
“Elite size, athleticism, and speed for his size.”
That’s what I jotted down in my notes as I continued watching.
I liked how he was moving in pass protection and run blocking. There were many blocks when he looked dominant. I really liked what I was seeing.
I liked the consistency I was seeing out of him.
Something was different about him, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until I heard the television announcer say something about the weight he had lost. That perked my ears up. Immediately, I put the game on pause and went to the Internet to research that topic to see what I could find.
Sure enough…
Proctor had lost weight since I’d last evaluated him. He was listed at 369 pounds in August of 2024.
He weighed in at the NFL Scouting Combine that went from February 23 to March 2 at 352 pounds.
That’s why he looked better on film.
How athletic did he look?
Take a look at the video below.
You tell me.
He was athletic enough to try his hand at being an offensive skill position player.
On more than one occasion, too.
Pro Football Focus also confirmed the improvements that I was seeing on film
2024:
Offensive grade: 70.8
Run blocking: 69.3
Pass blocking: 71.5
2025:
Offensive grade: 86.1📈
Run blocking: 81.1📈
Pass blocking: 84.2📈
Determination
There were several times in pass protection when he blocked more than one defender (same thing when he was run blocking). I tallied 15 pancake run blocks. I noticed all these “extra efforts.”
Did he get a little too complacent at times? Yeah, especially in pass protection.
But overall, he won most of his reps both as a pass and a run blocker.
*He found a way to get it done.

Daniel Kelly’s Final 2026 NFL Draft Grade: First-Round (I would select him)
Projected by NFL Mock Draft Database to be a First Round prospect as of March 29, 2026
Alabama Offensive Tackle Kadyn Proctor is Underdeveloped (2024: 11 games evaluated)
2025 game film evaluated: FSU, Louisiana-Monroe, Wisconsin, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, Eastern Illinois, Auburn, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Indiana (click to view games watched to form this evaluation)
Note: His quarterback (Ty Simpson) holding the ball for 2.95 seconds (PFF) in 2025 didn’t do him any favors.
Note: Proctor is not Evan Neal 2.0
2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Powerful brute. Electric athleticism. Flexible. Aggressive. Flashed a quick first step. Occasionally slow off snap. Inconsistent reaction times. Inconsistent hands at the point of attack. Nice wide base. Mostly balanced. Sometimes crosses over and chases. Decent anchor. Above-average lateral foot speed. Handles “X” and loop stunts. Blocks blitzes, delayed blitzes, rip and spin moves. A little too reactive at times. Getting better at protecting against secondary moves back to the inside. Most vulnerable through the back door of the pocket, but competes hard. Physical run blocker. Excels at combo blocks. Good short-yardage blocker. Inconsistent sustain. Likes to flex on people.
Final words
Proctor is trending in the right direction.
