NIL Allows Quinshon Judkins to Merge Football and Charity
Quinshon Judkins is riding a high since Ohio State clinched the National Championship win.
The Buckeyes running back made headlines everywhere after he reached the endzone three times in Ohio State’s 34-23 victory over Notre Dame.
On Friday, Jan. 24, Judkins officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. However, before he leaves Ohio State he is making one final donation to a much-deserving cause.
How Judkins combined philanthropy and football this season
In May 2024, Judkins teamed up with Four Star Freightliner Inc., an Alabama-based truck dealership. Upon partnering with the group, he said that he appreciates that they share his dedication to helping those in need.
“As a native of Montgomery County, AL it is great to partner with a company headquartered in my roots,” Judkins said. “Four Star is a company that has been a valued part of my community for a long time. We are similar in our desire to be active and supportive within the communities in which we live and serve.”
To launch their partnership, Four Star sent Judkins back to his hometown, where he participated in a sizable charity event. There, he announced that for every touchdown he scored that season, $1,000 would be donated to the Alabama Kidney Foundation.
This was just one exciting part of a record-breaking event. The original goal of the fundraiser was to reach $185,000 in donations. This was easily surpassed thanks to individuals like Judkins.
“Recently through our partnership, I was able to attend the Alabama Kidney Walk and helped raise a record $300,000 at the annual event,” Judkins said. “I look forward to an amazing partnership together promoting such a wonderful company while continuing to give back,” NIL Daily on SI reports.
Judkins adds to the excitement by using NIL
To elevate the fundraiser, Judkins presented a $10,000 check to his high school program at Pike Road High School.
This contribution is unrelated to his pledge with Four Star. It is a direct result of his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals with brands such as Raising Cane’s, Kane Footwear, JLab, and more.
“Just to see this community come out and support each other, everyone come out and celebrate, and come together for a cause that’s bigger than everyone else has been awesome to see,” Judkins told WSFA.
With 14 touchdowns this season, the 21-year-old will have raised a remarkable $14,000 donation to the Alabama Kidney Foundation.
An experienced community volunteer
His partnership with Four Star and the Alabama Kidney Foundation isn’t the first time that Judkins has engaged in community service.
Just a few months before the fundraiser, Judkins partnered with A Kid Again. The organization, based around Judkins’ hometown, focuses on creating unique, exciting, and impactful events and experiences for children nationwide with severe health risks.
According to Judkins’ official website, he attended one of their events at the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus. There, children created lasting memories while engaging with arts and crafts.
Keep an eye on this star running back as he may have even more contributions before the draft in April.
