Quinn Ewers Announces ‘QB1’ Jerky
University of Texas quarterback (QB) Quinn Ewers spent last week gearing up his regular season finale with the Longhorns.
His preparation was a bit different than his usual routine, though. Last week, Ewers teamed up with Victory Snacks and launched “QB1 Jerky.”
Ewers powers up with Victory Snacks
“I’m pumped to work with Victory Snacks to launch QB1 Jerky,” Ewers said in a statement. “It’s awesome to have a product that’s not only delicious but also has the protein-packed energy and nutrition it takes for an athlete like me to perform. I can’t wait for ‘Hook ‘em Horns’ faithful to try my favorite Texas Heat flavor.”
In the promotional video, Ewers credits his performance to the brand’s new line of jerky, which comes in three flavors – Tropical, Smokin’, and Texas Heat. The last is, of course, an homage to Ewers’s last season as a Longhorn.
The difference between this line and others, though, is that each of the flavors is ham-based jerky. It’s also keto-friendly, non-GMO, organic, and gluten-free.
“When I’m not on the field throwing TD passes, I’m at home working the smoker and cooking up the best ham jerky you’ll ever taste,” Ewers says.
Victory Snacks also sells a variety of foods other than jerky such as protein bars, nuts, and trail mixes that promote protein-packed diets.
Victory Snacks steps into the world of NIL
Ewers is the first athlete to collaborate with Victory Snacks. Both parties are promoting the necessity of balanced diets for athletes.
“At Victory Snacks, we understand the unique nutritional needs of athletes and the active set, as well as the importance of convenient, delicious options that can be enjoyed on the go, Victory Snacks shares. “Our product line features a diverse range of snacks, including premium jerky, protein-packed bars, and wholesome trail mixes, all thoughtfully crafted to provide the perfect balance of taste and nutrition.
A percentage of all proceeds from the QB1 line will go toward other Texas athletes who are also participating in the campaign, On3 reports. Texas football players Zina Umeozul, Trevor Goosby, and Connor Robertson, as well as beach volleyball athletes Chloe Charles, Ava Patton, Presley Wright, Macey Butler, and Carys Patton are also participating in promotions.
“We are proud to partner with college NIL programs to help student-athletes maintain their health and performance while promoting their unique brands,” the brand continues. “Our customizable packaging and branding options allow colleges to showcase their identity and messages, fostering a sense of community and support.”
Fans can purchase the snack on the brand’s official website and at Texas retail stores soon. Fans are also eligible to win monthly giveaways just by purchasing the jerky online. These include football game tickets, autographed merchandise, and more.
Ewers’ path to success
Depending on how things go from here, Ewers is looking at a bright future.
He has amassed over 15 Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals in his time at the University of Texas. He is also a serious contender for the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
If he keeps up his success, both on and off the field, Ewers is in for an impressive next few years.
