Jalen Milroe Makes History with Rhoback

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Alabama quarterback (QB) Jalen Milroe is making considerable strides in the world of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Milroe has quite a collection of deals with brands such as Celsius, Hey Dude, Adidas, and Six Star Pro Nutrition.

One of Milroe’s deals is with Rhoback, an athletic apparel company. Several weeks ago, the brand debuted its first cable commercial featuring Milroe. It aired during the matchup between Alabama and Tennessee on Saturday, October 19.

The commercial was a major milestone for Milroe and Rhoback. NIL deals are typically marketed through social media. While promotional videos in this format are common, fans rarely see athletes endorsing brands on television.

It’s not the first time this has happened. Brands like Dr. Pepper have a history of collaborating with college athletes for their ‘Fansville’ series, which has been featured for several years during the college football season.

Dr. Pepper is one of the most recognized soft drinks. While they frequently release cable commercials, Rhoback usually focuses on smaller advertising formats. Therefore, having Milroe featured in their first commercial is a significant achievement for him and the brand.

Rhoback’s long partnership with Milroe

The relationship between Milroe and Rhoback isn’t new. The Alabama QB’s relationship with the brand began in 2022 when he was just a backup for the Tide. Fast forward to 2024; he is now the face of Rhoback’s Alabama Gameday Collection.

“We’re thrilled to continue supporting Jalen Milroe as Rhoback remains his official apparel sponsor for a third season,” the performance activewear brand states.

“As a Heisman candidate, Jalen has established himself as a leader for both Rhoback U and college football. Elected captain for the 2024 season, his leadership is clear from the moment you meet him. This year, Jalen will be a key player for the Tide as he sets out to silence even more critics.”

Earn It

Milroe is also part of the brand’s “Earn It” campaign for the 2024 season. He joins the following athletes in promoting the brand:

Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard and cornerback Benjamin Morrison

Penn State Running Back Nicholas Singleton

Texas QB Quinn Ewers

Ohio State safety Caleb Downs

Georgia safety Malaki Starks

Clemson QB Cade Klubnik

“We are proud to introduce our talented roster of Rhoback Athletes spanning both the professional and collegiate spaces,” the brand states.” As leaders both on and off the field, these athletes are true representations of the Crave Activity ethos, and we couldn’t be more honored to join their teams.”

Rhoback’s motto is “Crave Activity.” The brand’s name even comes from the Rhodesian Ridgeback dog breed.

“The Ridgeback perpetually craves activity and has an unmistakable ridge that runs down its back. Wearing the Ridge inspires us to always be ready for the next adventure,” the brand explains.

Milroe is the perfect ambassador for this campaign. He has led his team to a winning record so far this season, proving he craves the game and what it takes to be a winner.
