Shedeur Sanders Presents ‘2Legendary’ Podcast
Shedeur Sanders has done it again!
This week, the Colorado quarterback (QB) continued his streak of exciting new endeavors by creating his very own podcast.
Sanders says he wanted to host a podcast to share his perspective on different topics in a live setting. Fans can expect friends, family, and others in similar situations as himself on the “2Legendary” show.
Here is a quick recap of the first episode.
Sanders was joined by Miami QB Cameron Ward, Virginia Tech QB Kyron Drones, and founder of Select QB Athletics Darrell Colbert Jr.
They started by discussing EA College Football 25.
Each of them shared their beliefs on the top three teams in the game, with everybody crediting Georgia as the best
They also “humbly” stated where they believe their teams should be ranked, plus what number ranking they deserve as players.
Colbert then asked the athletes to share their recruiting experiences.
Drones shared that his high school career didn’t quite start until his junior year. It wasn’t until he led his team to an undefeated season and a state championship victory that his offers began rolling in.
“My recruiting process was bad,” Ward stated. He explained he had one offer coming out of high school from UIW (University of Incarnate Word). He played for them during his freshman year before transferring to Washington State for two years. Finally, he entered the portal again this past year after feeling like his “time was up” there and committed to The University of Miami.
Finally, Sanders explained how his father, Deion Sanders, played a role in his move from Jackson State to Colorado.
Although they varied, one thing their stories each had in common was the role that COVID-19 played in their experiences.
Then, they discussed their favorite stadiums to play at, as well as who they currently model their game after.
Ward said his game against USC was “packed” and that it was the “best grass [he] ever played on. Drones mentioned Louisville as it was particularly loud. Sanders liked Arizona State.
Drones credited Texas Houston’s QB Deshaun Watson as someone he tries to emulate while Ward mentioned Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love. Sanders says he mainly models his game after Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
Ward even shared why he previously declared for the draft.
“I was ready to be done with college,” he stated. “I threw a lot of touchdowns, yards, all that, but I played at the level I said I wanted to.” At that point, the Miami QB said Ohio recruiters stayed on him and he thought it was best he stayed another year.
In terms of advice, the players had varying opinions.
“Just control what you can control,” Drones said.
“Don’t worry about the outside stuff…just focus on yourself and what you want to do,” Ward stated.
The athletes’ egos were challenged at times during the interview. Colbert even joked about Ward’s ability to be on time for workouts (alluding to the past feud between Sanders and the Miami QB). However, it’s clear that they are all on good terms now and are ready for their seasons to begin.
