Quinn Ewers New NIL Deal & How He Shaped His NIL Career
Does Quinn Ewers ever take a week off from endorsement deals?
It doesn’t appear so as the Texas Longhorns quarterback (QB) just inked yet another Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal.
This past week, Ewers revealed his newest partnership with Hulu. Instead of his usual social media promotion, the QB is stepping things up this time with his very own commercial.
Hulu is continuing their streak of offering live college football during the 2024 season- and they worked with Ewers to make it happen.
The nationwide commercial is set to run throughout the college football season. Fans even received a sneak peek on Ewers’ Instagram
The QB advertises the service’s best features including its extensive range of channels, lack of hidden fees, and simple contract details. He is also seen cutting cables to symbolize Hulu’s small and cable-free setup.
Overall, people seem slightly confused regarding Ewers’ wardrobe choices (his bright green shorts), but it seems to be generally well-received by fans.
Although the Longhorn’s acting may not win him any awards, his entrepreneurial skills may…. They have certainly served him well so far.
How Ewers’ past choices have led him to this point
At just 21 years old, Ewers’ NIL valuation continues to skyrocket. He has currently made over $1 million in deals and is likely to make even more throughout the upcoming football season.
Ewers skipped his senior year at Southlake Carroll High School due to Texas’s UIL (University Interscholastic League) rules involving high school athletes. This essentially meant that Ewers wouldn’t be able to make money off of anything NIL-related until he graduated high school.
So, he graduated in three years, stating that the decision had everything to do with his athletic career. He clarified that it wasn’t based simply on the fact that he could start making money earlier.
“This is not just a financial decision; this is about what is best for my football career,” he shared. “At 18, and with one final class about to be completed to earn my high-school degree, I feel it’s time to get the jump on my college career that is available to me. I am eager to start learning from Coach [Ryan] Day and the rest of the coaching staff,“ he said at the start of his college career back when he was at Ohio State before he transferred to Texas in 2021.
In this day and age, it makes sense to start getting your name out there early. Today, fans don’t simply know an athlete’s name because of their skills on the turf. Most of the time this is the case, but NIL can also take players far in their athletic careers.
It seems like Ewers made the right choices. He has over 15 NIL deals and recently landed the cover of the new EA Sports College Football 25 game.
Is Ewers coming after the Heisman next?
Not only is his NIL valuation high, but so is his chance of becoming the next Heisman Trophy recipient. Ewers, along with Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, and more are already being talked about as favorites.
On3 even ranks him as the second most likely SEC player to receive the coveted award. He currently stands just behind Georgia QB Carson Beck.
