Jalen Milroe Proves Leadership Status
Between training, endorsement deals, and pursuing an academic career, it’s safe to say Alabama quarterback (QB) Jalen Milroe has a hectic schedule. However, he is proving he still has time to better himself, as well as children who undoubtedly appreciate the star QB’s company.
Milroe’s support for his community
In April, Milroe visited the Children’s of Alabama Pediatric Hospital and he was all smiles.
While at the hospital, the quarterback listened to the children’s courageous stories while encouraging them to continue fighting. He also took photos with them and presented them with signed merchandise.
According to Touchdown Alabama, Milroe wants today’s youth to “find the positivity in every area of life,” demonstrating his appreciation for all of the members of his community.
Milroe steps up
Milroe gained attention when he replaced former Alabama QB Bryce Young after his shoulder injury during his junior year, which wasn’t an easy position to fill. Before Young was chosen as the No. 1 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, he won the 2021 Heisman Trophy, Davey O’Brien Award, Maxwell Award, and Manning Award.
That being said, Milroe had enormous shoes to fill. However, he didn’t disappoint. He surprised fans when he contributed a 77-yard touchdown in a game against Arkansas.
Soon after, he began his career as the team’s starting QB. With Young’s injury lasting until the end of the 2022 season, Milroe continued to lead the team to an 11-2 record and win against Kansas State at the Sugar Bowl (42-20).
Milroe went on to lead the Crimson Tide throughout his junior year. Now, he is ready to fight for a strong season one more time.

How Milroe is preparing for the 2024 season
In March, the QB shared with fans part of his daily routine which begins at 4 a.m. in the weight room.
“I’m all about repetition, I’m all about the process to succeed and be successful,” the QB said according to On3. “Whether it’s waking up early, or staying up late, it’s all about this process of being great and being successful. I’m going to continue to do that as much as possible.”
Milroe credits his mindset to his coaches- both former and current, as well as his teammates. He says that their hard work has set the bar for how much he pushes himself now.
“I got to applaud the people [that’ve] been around me,” Milroe continued. “They set the foundation of what’s right. The guys that played the position here and then offensively, all the guys. For me, I just try to improve each and every day.”
According to On3, Milroe is especially thankful for Alabama defenders Deontae Lawson and Malachi Moore. He says they help set the standard for the newer players.
Overall, Milroe seems to be leading a well-oiled team for the upcoming season. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tide will be a huge force against competitors in the fall.
