Quinn Ewers Takes Flight With New NIL Deal
First Round Mock’s Victoria Jonach takes a look at what Texas quarterback (QB) Quinn Ewers has been up to off the field.
Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) has officially taken off!
Although the concept of players profiting from their entrepreneurial activities was introduced not even three years ago, the deals have become bigger than ever.
Ewers soars with new deal
One example is Texas QB Quinn Ewers’ new deal with private jet company, NICHOLAS AIR.
“More Texas touchdowns coming soon. Welcome to the family,” both parties shared on Instagram.
“We are really excited to welcome Quinn to the NICHOLAS AIR family,” says Founder and CEO Nicholas Correnti. “He’s got exceptional talent and is the type of leader and player that makes college football exciting to watch. We look forward to seeing Quinn excel on the field and seeing him onboard with NICHOLAS AIR. NICHOLAS AIR has always aligned itself with the best in class, both on and off the field, and our relationship with a great leader and hard worker like Quinn is another exciting chapter for our team.”
With the help of the travel company, Ewers will have access to the company’s collection of jet fleets. This will provide the 21-year-old with transportation resources for his hectic schedule. He can use the jets for everything from training to volunteer events, or even simply travel.
All Ewers has to do is promote the company via social media. With over 200,000 Instagram followers, this is undoubtedly beneficial for NICHOLAS AIR.
“I’m fired up for my new partnership with NICHOLAS AIR. It is a first-class organization and a perfect match for my travel needs. Their attention to detail and commitment to high-level service for their Members is second to none. Proud to represent their brand,” Ewers said according to NICHOLAS AIR.
A rise in NIL deals involving travel
Ewers is the second athlete to sign with NICHOLAS AIR, the company says. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart signed with them in February, making it the first deal involving private jets. However, it was not the first deal involving travel.
Former USC QB and first-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft Caleb Williams made NIL history by partnering with United Airlines last season. Williams was responsible for promoting their new flight schedule involving more destinations to align with the college football schedule. Although it may sound somewhat similar to Ewers’ and Dart’s deals, it was the first with a major airline.
Former FSU receiver Keon Coleman also has experience with travel-related NIL deals. Last season, the No. 33 overall draft pick partnered with IHG, a hotel company. Coleman specifically represented the Tallahassee location, along with former fellow FSU athletes Jordan Travis and Trey Benson as many FSU fans visited there.
Although not the same as Ewers’ deal, these recent partnerships demonstrate an uptick in NIL deals involving trips and travel.
I am willing to bet Ewers will have a plethora of other NIL deals, philanthropic activities, and additional opportunities this season. With over 20 deals and an NIL valuation of over $1 million already under his belt, Ewers is on his way to becoming one of the highest-paid players in his draft class.
