Jayden Daniels to Star in ‘The Money Game’ DocuSeries

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Is Jayden Daniels trying his hand at acting?

Not necessarily, but fans will have the opportunity to see him, plus several other LSU athletes on their television screens. However, they won’t be simply competing to win competitions.

What is ‘The Money Game’ About?

Amazon Prime Video is exclusively releasing a docuseries focusing on the 2023-2024 LSU athletic season. It will also include policy changes regarding Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

“The docuseries follows, in real-time, a historic turning point in the NCAA upon policy changes on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights—guaranteed to shape the trajectory of college sports forever—highlighted by the surreal experiences of LSU’s top players, coaches, and administrators,” Amazon MGM Studios stated.

According to Amazon MGM Studios, The ‘Money Game’ is directed by Drea Cooper. The series is produced by Campfire Studios, Axios Entertainment, and Jersey Legends Productions, Prime Video said.

Shaquille O’Neal is also involved in the project as Jersey Legends Productions is his multimedia company that specializes in TV, film, digital, and commercial production.

Highlighting LSU’s biggest stars

The series will feature some of the school’s top NIL earners including quarterback Jayden Daniels, gymnast Olivia Dunne, and basketball players Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson. Collectively, the four athletes have over 20 million social media followers, according to Amazon MGM Studios. They also have partnerships with huge brands such as Sports Illustrated, Amazon, Beats by Dre, and Powerade.

“This is LSU. It’s Louisiana. You’re going to come here, you’re going to be a star across the state,” LSU athletics’ chief brand officer Cody Worsham stated.

“LSU, the flagship university of the state of Louisiana, is one of the most iconic brands in college athletics. LSU boasts an SEC-best 51 team national championships and is currently home to three of the top-10 collegiate earners in NIL,” the Amazon press release stated.

As of right now, it is unclear as to when the docuseries will be available to stream.

Daniels stepping into a new role

Although this will be Daniels’ first docuseries, the Heisman Trophy winner is familiar with the spotlight. He has even starred in several commercials and advertisements for brands such as Powerade and Raising Cane’s.

These brand deals have all featured scripted acting, though. This series will give fans a chance to look at Daniels’ LSU life and what it is like being one of the most renowned college quarterbacks in the country.

“I think it’s really exciting not just for us but for viewers. For LSU fans but for fans of athletics and good storytelling. They can kind of get a lens into LSU and the LSU brand and what it looks like here in Baton Rouge,” Worsham said.

With his NIL deals, this docuseries, and of course, his athletic achievements, Daniels is on track for a bright future. The 23-year-old has already declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is also likely to be chosen within the first round, according to draft analysts Mel Kiper and Matt Miller.

Who knows what Daniels’ future will hold?
