Caleb Williams Partners With Dr. Pepper to Hand Out Two Prizes

Does Caleb Williams ever take a day off?

It doesn’t appear so.

The USC quarterback recently helped Dr. Pepper with their Tuition Toss Event. During the event, he awarded two high school seniors of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Los Angeles each with $50,000 in future tuition money.

At the event, Caleb coached the students on how to throw a football. He also gave two lucky students a chance to win a huge prize.

The winner of the competition was Kamari B., who totaled eight footballs in 30 seconds and won a $50,000 scholarship from Dr. Pepper and Caleb Cares, according to PR Newswire. Afterward, Williams surprised Julieta R., who landed the second most amount of footballs, with a $50,000 match in future tuition via Caleb Cares.

Fans loved it. One Instagram user commented, “That’s my QB. What a fantastic human being you are!!!! Thank you for everything Caleb, we will miss you.” A ton of other users also commented showing their love for Williams and asking him to stay one more year with USC.

Williams’ relationship with Dr. Pepper

The USC QB started working with Dr. Pepper in August. Together, they have produced a commercial for their Fansville campaign and also created a personalized nail polish set called “FANicures” to celebrate one of Williams’ most famous hobbies.

“The Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Program is an initiative we look forward to every year, and we’re excited to have the program evolve to impact even more deserving students,” said John Alvarado, SVP of Dr Pepper® Brand Marketing. “Given our shared commitment of youth empowerment, we’re honored to team up with the Caleb Cares Foundation to positively impact members of the community.”

Dr. Pepper has been giving away scholarships for 15 years now. Overall, through their Tuition Giveaway events, they have donated over $17.5 million, PR Newswire writes.

“Partnering with Dr. Pepper and my own foundation, Caleb Cares, to be able to help kids with their college education has been incredibly rewarding,” said Williams.

“It’s always important to me to align with a brand that prioritizes some of the same values I hold, as far as empowering the youth and providing opportunities to those who are looking to further their education,” Williams stated. “I’m thrilled we came together to support high school members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles through my foundation.”

What is the goal of Caleb Cares?

In 2022, Williams created his own foundation dedicated to anti-bullying, youth empowerment, and mental health awareness called the Caleb Cares Foundation.

He has held various events related to these topics including leading a group of middle schoolers on a tour of USC’s athletic buildings. He also teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club to hold an anti-bullying event and even hands out Caleb Cares Hero Awards to members of the club who he feels have made an effort to stop bullying

Overall, there is no question of Williams’ devotion to giving back. Not everyone with a schedule like his finds the time to help others. However, his work with the students and efforts in leading the Caleb Cares Foundation both demonstrate his selflessness.
