Marvin Harrison Jr. Steps Into New Role as Kane Footwear Partner

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is proving to be one of the biggest names in college football this season. On the field, he has the athleticism that many individuals are saying is worthy of a first-round draft pick. However, off of the field, the Ohio State wide receiver is just as much of a threat. Recently, Harrison Jr. inked a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with a well-known shoe company.

This past September, Kane Footwear updated its collegiate collection with 11 new schools. Aside from Harrison Jr., the company also teamed up with several NCAA players including Clemson linebacker Barrett Carter, Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner, USC safety Calen Bullock, and Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. These athletes will promote the brand on social media.

An updated lineup

Their original line of college shoes was launched last year. However, the Universities of Alabama, Florida, and Southern California, Clemson University, and Louisiana State University were the only schools part of the collection.

This year, the Universities of Arizona, Auburn, Florida State, the University of Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Utah are all a part of the Collegiate Active Recovery Collection, too.

Clemson’s shoe also has a new look. The shoes are selling for $85 plus shipping on Kane Footwear’s official website.

“Playing competitive lacrosse at Johns Hopkins throughout college, I experienced firsthand the difficulty of balancing time between games, a packed training schedule, and classes,” CEO and Founder of Kane Footwear, John Gagliardi shared. “I always needed to be at the top of my game – physically and mentally. I’m excited to bring the Revive to college campuses to these students [who] need an active recovery solution that can promote continuous recovery while they’re on the move.”

The Revive shoe was specially designed with the help of sports podiatrist Dr. Dan Geller. The product offers several features intended to minimize the pain and discomfort that athletes are forced to deal with. Not only does the shoe include a “10mm heel-to-toe drop to provide Achilles support.” In addition, Kane’s commodity has an “expanded footbed to accommodate post-workout swelling, a highly breathable design, and nodes on the sole of the shoe to stimulate and promote blood flow in your feet,” Inside Outdoor writes.

Harrison Jr. gets candid about comfort

Harrison understands what it’s like to be on his feet all day. He explains how Kane’s Revive shoes help him get through his busy schedule without causing him to be uncomfortable.

I think I perform well under pressure for all the hard work that I put in leading up to the games– the countless hours when no one else is really watching,” Harrison Jr. says. “When the game comes I just make it look easy.”

“I wear my Kane’s for active recovery. Being a receiver, I’m on my feet a lot running routes,” the receiver states. “I get in and out of breaks so anytime I can put my Kane’s on my feet [and] get back to a hundred percent, that’s good for my position.

Harrison Jr. does not need brand deals to get attention for his talents, but they aren’t hurting the Buckeyes’ star receiver in helping him demonstrate what a well-rounded individual he is.
