Joe Milton III is Serving Up One of the Best NIL Deals
Joe Milton III is already on a roll this season. Many players have announced Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships within the past few weeks. However, I am not sure any are as cool as this deal with the largest fast food chain in the world.
The Volunteers’ quarterback (QB) announced news of the deal Friday via an Instagram post.
The “Milton Meal” is available at select McDonald’s locations. The unique order includes a Big Mac, medium Fry, large Sweet Tea, and Sweet-n-Sour Sauce,” according to On3.
The endorsement was made possible by Spyre Sports Group.
The 23-year-old announced this will be his final year on the team and resigned from the ‘The Volunteer Club’ earlier this year. The Tennessee collective offers several membership options for fans. The group recently surpassed 3,000 members, solidifying itself as one of the top college football collectives.

On his Instagram, Milton shared the price ($7 before taxes and fees) of the specialty meal and encouraged fans to take part in the promotion. The price just so happens to match his number on the field.
“Don’t wait, secure the bag, and enjoy your Milton Meal at these Funderburk Family McDonald’s locations starting this weekend,” the QB posted, naming six Tennessee locations listed below.”
These include the following addresses.
300 Bigmac Dr, Algood
110 Fast Lane, Baxter
1001 S Jefferson St, Cookeville
515 S Willow Ave, Cookeville
1195 N. Main St Crossville
558 Peavine Rd, Crossville
Milton also added that there will be additional Funderburk McDonald’s locations to follow.
Only a few other college football players have inked NIL deals with McDonald’s including UVA QB Brennan Armstrong and Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Clearly, the chain has proved to be selective in its endorsements, choosing only the best athletes to partner with.
A work in progress
There has been controversy involving the Volunteers’ former head coach, Jeremy Pruitt, and his infraction of several NCAA rules. Milton seems to be turning things around, though with the help of his new head coach, Josh Heupel. As a result, the QB is giving him and his team a better reputation for Name, Image, and Likeness deals.
Milton is definitely off to a good start this season. The QB completed 21 of 30 total passes in their first-week game against Virginia. He also led his team to a 30-13 win against Austin Peay in their second game of the season.
In addition, the Volunteer is already collecting awards for his athleticism. Before announcing his new meal with the popular fast food chain, he was also named the Co-SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Virginia in their season opener.
Milton has additionally secured a deal with the headphone company, Beats By Dre. This endorsement came just three weeks ago and allowed the athlete to share some NIL love with his team. Not only did he receive a pair of Beats Studio Pro wireless headphones, but all of his fellow Volunteers did, as well.
With both deals, this is Milton’s current valuation, placing the Volunteer currently on On3’s NIL100 List.
Don’t underestimate this player during the 2023 season. The sixth-year senior player is likely to impress many in his last season as a college athlete.
