Travis Hunter – Colorado’s Newest Cosmetics Model

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter is known for his work on the football field. However, he is also breaking into the fashion and cosmetics businesses with a certain retired NFL player.

As former players and mentors go, this individual is one of the best in terms of the sports and media industries.

The ultimate mentor

Former NY Giants’ defender Michael Strahan launched his very own skincare collection last September. The defensive end and Hall of Famer contributed for 15 professional seasons in the league and now works as the host of several shows. Currently, he is the co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America and host of the primetime game show The $100,000 Pyramid. Additionally, he is featured on Fox NFL Sunday as an analyst.

Strahan spends most of his time in the public eye in these positions. Because of this, a skin and shave line is a solid investment for the star.

Strahan’s official lifestyle and clothing brand was introduced in 2015. The business includes clothing ranging from tuxedos, shoes and pajamas. He has also added lines for women and boys.

Perfect timing

Travis Hunter joined the brand at the same time as the launch of the Michael Strahan Daily Defense (skincare) line. Although, Hunter has endorsed the apparel line, as well as the cosmetics business. The Colorado Buffalos’ player is the brand’s first ambassador.

“It means a lot,” Hunter says. “It really inspires me to do more of the things he’s doing for his brand and his community … He’s really at the top of what he does. He’s one of the top people you want to work with. He can teach you a lot about what he does,” Hunter said to Forbes, describing his work as an ambassador and Strahan.

It is good timing for Hunter. It was just before the start of his freshman year that Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules changed. Before 2021, players were not able to financially benefit from endorsements and partnerships with brands. Now, players such as Hunter can be compensated for work like social media advertising, modeling, or any other NIL work.

“Travis Hunter is a game-changer on and off the football field,” Strahan said in an email to Forbes. “This young man had the opportunity to select any school in the country but chose Jackson State University. His decision demonstrates his character, his vision, and his confidence.

Hunter earns recognition as a leader

Hunter was the nation’s top recruit according to SI All-American. Before he transferred to Colorado, he spent his freshman year at Jackson State University in Mississippi.

“These qualities resonate with me and my brand. I admire this young man and look forward to watching his continued growth,” Strahan noted.

You can find Michael Strahan™ products at a large selection of stores throughout the nation. Amazon, CVS, Rite Aid, Target are where individuals can find skin care products. Men’s Wearhouse, JCPenney, Fanatics, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and more companies all sell his apparel. Customers can also purchase apparel from the official website here.

No other players have had an opportunity with a professional player like Strahan. The fact that Strahan chose Hunter over other athletes speaks volumes about what he thinks of the 20-year-old. On the field, Hunter clearly has the skills. If he sticks with Strahan and his coach, retired NFL player Deion Sanders, Hunter’s chances of going pro are high.
