Georgia’s Javon Bullard is One Tough Cookie
First Round Mock’s Victoria Jonach takes a closer look at Georgia defensive back Javon Bullard.
Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals are becoming more creative by the day.
First, we were introduced to Bijan Robinson’s line of dijon mustard. Next, came along Kool-Aid McKinstry gracing fans with news of his endorsement with the popular drink company of the same name.
Now, Georgia defensive back Javon Bullard is stepping into the world of NIL with his new, delectable snack.
Bullard’s cookie dough concoction
Bullard has a new partnership with Gaines Group Activations and Alumni Cookie Dough.
All of the parties worked together to create a new flavor named “Bullard’s Buckeye Cookie Krunch.” The main ingredient is candied buckeyes, which are chocolate covered peanut butter balls. The concoction also includes Oreo Cookies and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, which are two of Bullard’s favorite snacks.
The new flavor is inspired by the safety’s performance against Ohio State.
No pun intended.
Throwing slight shade toward Ohio?
“Oh yes, we went there!!” Alumni Cookie Dough writes in a Facebook post.
“We wanted to make it a little bit crunchy because of that pivotal play he had on Marvin Harrsion Jr. in the Peach Bowl,” founder and CEO of Gaines Group Activiations, Cannon Gaines said.
The Peach Bowl against Ohio State on December 31 is what launched the snack.
Bullard totaled three tackles, one sack and a huge pass breakup. The huge play came against against Marvin Harrison Jr., who is another top 2024 NFL Draft prospect.
Harrison ended up leaving the game from the play with a concussion and the Bulldogs clenched the win 42-41.
The controversial play prompted a flag. Although it was overruled, Ohio State’s coach believed the play should have brought a targeting penalty, Online Athens writes. All of the drama had to do with the fact Bullard held Ohio to a field goal instead of a touchdown.
Both Alumni Cookie and Bullard want to make clear that they are endorsing the athlete’s athletic abilities, not violence, the Red&Black write.
The kickoff event occurred on April 1. One lucky fan had the opportunity to win a Bullard-signed football from the G-Day Georgia Spring Game just two weeks later.
I thought it was a blessing, man, to have a cookie dough named after myself and the team we played,” Bullard told Online Athens. “It’s pretty funny, and I feel like it’s good for advertising.”
Ambition all around
What makes this partnership so great is the drive behind not just the athlete, but the supporting organizations as well.
“I want to work with all the student-athletes at Georgia if I can, Gaine told the Red&White. “I know that’s ambitious, but Alumni is also ambitious…We really want to keep this partnership rolling and see where we can go with it.”
Bullard was MVP for both the Peach Bowl game and Georgia’s 65-7 National Championship win over TCU.
In addition, he has been a part of the Bulldogs for two years, both of which the team has won national championships.
Clearly, he is a good addition to the roster. He’s proving to be a tough cookie on the field and entrepreneur with good cookies off the field.
It would be a shame if NFL coaches failed to notice this Bulldog’s work ethic and competitive spirit in time for the 2024 Draft.
